Elizabeth Davies (Chairman of the Trustees)
Appointed 13th May 2010. Elizabeth has lived in Finchley for more than 25 years. This is her second term as a Trustee. She recently retired as Head of Human Resources at The Institution of Civil Engineers. As a former member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, Elizabeth provides the Charities valuable experience in this area. She is involved in a number of local organisations. Elizabeth was elected Chairman of the Trustees in September 2014 and again in November 2016.
Appointed 27th May 1980. He is a property partner at Curwens Solicitors who has worked for many years in the Charity sector. Specifically he has assisted Finchley Age Concern. Chairman of the Hertfordshire Law Society Property Committee and past President of Hertfordshire Law Society. Director of URC Thames North Trust.
Appointed 24th October 2010. This is his second spell as a Trustee. He has worked as a professional town planner for over 35 years.He is active in the local community with many voluntary sector groups dealing with economic, social and environmental issues.
Dr Brian Coleman FRSA
Brian has been a Trustee since 2000. Having grown and been educated locally he is well known in the Community having previously served as London Assembly Member for 12 years, a Barnet Councillor for 16 years and Mayor of the London Borough of Barnet. A Rotarian and Methodist, he now works as a Consultant on matters Local Government and still occasionally writes and broadcasts. Before Politics he had considerable commercial experience in the Outdoor Advertising Industry.
The Reverend Philip Davison
Appointed 24th November 2008. He is Rector at St Mary-at-Finchley, the historic Parish of Finchley which was instrumental in the founding of The Finchley Charities. For this reason, The Rector is an an Ex-Officio Trustee. Philip has been a trustee of other charities dedicated to releif in need. The Parish of Finchley remains committed to the well-being of all the people of Finchley.
Appointed 12th June 2003. He runs his own website mail order business. He has had experience of learning disabilities charities. He is a member of The Rotary Club of Finchley, current President and a Trustee of their Charity account.
C. John Huckstep
Appointed 23rd May 1977 as an Ex-Officio Trustee, John has served as a Churchwarden of St Mary at Finchley Parish Church and as Vice- Chairman and Chairman of The Finchley Charities. He worked for 35 years as a senior executive with Shell International both in the UK and overseas. For many years he was a consultant with Charity and Fundraising Appointments. He has also served as Vice Chairman and Chairman of Finchley Age Concern.
Appointed 11th January 2016. She moved in 1972 to East Finchley. Her working life has been mainly in secretarial/administrative jobs working for the BBC, the Leonard Cheshire Foundation and finally 11 years with the Ministry of Defence working for the Royal Navy. She retired in 2001 and has close involvement with The Archer, a local community newspaper which covers the N2 area. Her interest is bowls and she is involved with several other local activities. Having lived in East Finchley for over 40 years, she has come to know the community well and enjoys taking an active interest in the area and its residents.
Appointed 29th March 2004. He works as the Community Development Manager for Peabody Housing Association. He has been Director of Finchley Credit Union since 2000 as well as being Director of Finchley Community Development Trust since 2002. He has served as Chairman of East Finchley Constitutional Club and is the Regional Director for London and South East, Association of British Credit Unions.
Appointed 12th February 2018, Graham has lived in East Finchley for 32 years. He worked as a management accountant in the City and subsequently as a tax inspector. He was elected to Barnet Council in 2010 having previously served for 8 years as a Councillor in Merton.
Appointed 15th September 1997 and previous Chairman. He has lived in East Finchley for over 30 years, working as an industrial engineer and an IT Trainer, and represented this ward on Barnet Council from May 2002 – May 2014. Colin has been organiser of the East Finchley Community Festival for over 15 years.
Appointed 21st November 2016. Mahmood is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He was a partner in the London office of KPMG. His clients included both national and international companies and he travelled extensively in the UK and overseas. He also spoke at conferences in London and various locations in Europe. He retired in 2001.
