The Finchley Charities is governed by a board of voluntary Trustees who contribute a wealth of professional expertise and lived experience to the organisation, while reflecting the diversity of the community we serve.
The Trustees decide the overall aims of the charity, hold overall responsibility for decision-making and long-term strategy, so as to ensure our financial stability while keeping the wellbeing of our residents at the heart of everything we do. Their varied perspectives on risk, strategy and organisational culture are fundamental to our continued growth and impact.
The Board is responsible for reviewing our activities and for providing detailed report within our audited accounts and annual Impact Report. They oversee essential annual reviews of Risk, Equality and Diversity, Resident Surveys, and Complaints together with regular updates on Building Safety Compliance. Trustees also chair and serve on committees that cover the key business areas, including Finance, Housing, and Property Services while participating in group activities to scrutinise strategic issues and opportunities in more depth.
Strong governance helps build stronger communities, and our Trustees, who formally declare any potential or perceived conflicts of interest, are committed to leadership that truly represents the community. To assist them, we encourage residents to take an active role in our work through focus groups and committees, such as the Health and Safety Committee.
